Just Little Ventrue Things ~

I finished a Camarilla Ventrue run of VTMB. Mostly, the only thing Ventrue these days know how to do is Dominate, run screaming, eat hot chip, and lie, and [high falsetto voice] here’s a list of other nonsense I discovered:

PC’s name is Christina; she’s a Dominatrix because I’m bi. Her sire was one of her clients, and she’s actually very, very angry about his death. She doesn’t mind being a vampire. She’s Wiccan and part of a coven

In this Camarilla run, I decided I would only do quests given by Camarilla members. My justification was that, while Christina is intelligent and curious about lore, she focuses on tasks that immediately relate to her and her goals. She’s not curious about others; won’t go out of her way to talk to them. She’s not a bleeding heart, like my other PCs, and she believes in the Camarilla’s laws. She just hates LaCroix for killing her sire. Her plan during the game is to curry as much favor within the Cam as possible and cozy up to LaCroix so she can stab him.

Went straight to LaCroix, called him “sir,” and he name-dropped Napoleon.

LaCroix tells Christina to go visit the Anarchs. She blows the Anarchs off (Nines made a growly face, Damsel dialog yowl-exited out after I asked if she wanted to join the Cam; Skelter threatened to murder me twice). When LaCroix told Christina that, while he admired her Cam loyalty, she must listen to her enemies to understand what they wanted, it felt like he was actually being a good sire and mentor.

That’s weird.

When Christina asked for his history, he very carefully explained his lineage, like the important part of Ventrue culture it is.

Overall, I found LaCroix-being-nice-to-me extremely unsettling.

For the first time ever, I didn’t kill anyone during the Museum quest! This is because Christina ran very fast and Dominated every guard as quickly as possible. Every single fucking guard knew she was there, but could do nothing about it, because they were dancing. The door to the sarcophagus locked (it will do this if too many guards are agro), but locked doors are no match for noclip hack.

For some reason, only other Ventrue guarded LaCroix’s tower. I wonder if this is intentional. Like all the other Camarilla Clans backed Strauss and left? So only LaCroix’s Ventrue lackeys remain? Anyway, it created some weird moments where Christina fought her double.

What were your favorite things to draw when you were a lil kid?  I knew I wasn’t an artist the moment I started experimenting with pens and markers, and the only image I liked to keep - and was capable of - drawing on repeat was your usual kid’s portrait of a house with a sun and clouds lmao. If you have a mental illness, do you think it has changed you for the better in any way?  No. Sugarcoating mental illness doesn’t sit well with me at all. I know I’ve learned to be gentle and understanding towards other people because of the emotional abuse I’ve received in my own relationships, and I absolutely hate that it’s because of mental illness. I shouldn’t have had to learn to be kind because I was treated shittily first.

What is your opinion on celebrity culture and celebrity worship? Have you ever been guilty of putting a celebrity on a pedestal? Do you think it’s somehow more acceptable/understandable to obsess over certain types of celebrities (musicians over YouTubers, say) than others? At what point do you think an obsession like that crosses the line?  I sometimes think it’s silly when fandoms fight and defend their favorites as if they know them personally, but I’m heavily into my fair share of celebrities and I honestly don’t see anything wrong with it. As long as you’re not hurting anyone or doing anything stupid like stalking your favorites, you do you.

If you were to pursue a career in photography and had the opportunity and means to photograph whatever you wanted, what would most like to photograph?  People.

Are your fingernails currently short or long?  They’re unequal lengths because I’ve been either biting or picking at them over the last few weeks, but for the most part they are long enough to need to be clipped.

Have you ever thought of how you would give your kids “the talk”?  No, but I think it’s also relevant to note that I live in a very conservative country where sexual intercourse is never discussed, especially within families; and that it’s virtually unheard of to hear of people until my generation to have been given the talk. I had to find out all by myself, and I remember being very confused when we were being taught the reproductive system in fifth grade because they only taught about the organs and their functions, and never anything deeper than that.

Luckily the last conservative generation was Gen X, and younger generations have been a lot more open-minded. And if I had to guess, I’m fairly certain Millennial parents would be more willing to give their kids the talk.

Do you ever feel like you’re missing out on something?  I mean, my 20s, thanks to Covid.

Do you ever write/draw on windows that are fogged up?  Yes.

If you were married, and your spouse’s parents became ill, would you let them move into your home? Of course.

tell me the first song that made you stan your current fave group and why did your faves attract you so much?

ok SO the song that probably got me into rv 100% (also yes ik this blog is 99% nct but rv is my forever fave no question) was probably ice cream cake!! i had been a casual listener of many groups up until that point and had never really stanned anyone, but icc was so infectious i found myself watching it over and over. i had heard happiness and be natural before but hadn’t really listened too closely, so icc was the song that captured me. after that, dumb dumb only cemented my love for them more, and the red is still one of my favorite kpop albums to date. rv attracted me primarily because of their incredible vocals and their versatility in genres and concepts. i still get so excited wondering what they’ll tackle next!! they’re just soooo unique and have one of, if not the best discographies of any group. i cannot stress enough, I. Love. RV!! also they’re funny and gay so. anyway stream monster once it drops uwu

1. what is your favorite song that’s been released during quarantine? ooooo honestly??? probably something off of Sawayama. literally every song bangs so hard i highly recommend that album to anyone!! i can’t pick a favorite off it but who’s gonna save you now is awesome and xs is just,,, chef’s kiss

2. what is your greatest mishap when you tried cooking? (or something you’ve witnessed) one time, while making soup at my late grandmother’s house on her like gas stove, i put a lid on a pot and somehow that led the pot to be engulfed in flames. IN MY DEFENSE i was like 7, and i’m great at cooking/baking now

3. what’s your go-to outfit or article of clothing? oh i love a nice dress. they can be casual or formal, and you look like you put effort into your outfit except i didn’t because i didn’t have to match anything yo!!!! also shorts have trouble fitting me cause i’m a weird body type so dresses tend to be very comfy for me

4. what is your comfort food? am i allowed to say like all food??? eating in itself is comforting,,, that sounds depressing but also i just like eating yummy food. i guess i’d say like my dad’s fried rice?? its my fave and no one makes it like him soooo

5. what singular moment in your life would you like to relive? i couldn’t tell if this meant like, a good moment you want to re-experience or go back in time and redo a moment and fix it. it’s kind of a hard question so i might cop out and go with a bit of a silly answer: i want to relive the hi touch with astro...... i wanna look at rocky��s beautiful eyes and touch moonbin’s hand ok,,,,

6. what is your favorite line and/or character from a movie, show, or book? i got a bunch but a few off the top of my head are genie lo (the epic crush of genie lo), ty lee, suki (atla), klaus, and ben (umbrella academy) 

7. if you could only choose one ice cream flavor and pizza topping/style for the rest of your life, what would it be? ice cream flavor: this very specific one from a local store that is banana ice cream with strawberries and oreo mixed in. it is heaaaavenly. as for pizza topping, i love a breakfast type pizza with an egg on top and like sausage and stuff!!!

8. what is the worst injury you’ve ever had or witnessed? funny enough, i’ve actually gotten badly injured quite a few times, and always on the face!! god hates me. the worst was probably when i hit a metal bench with my face and it took a chunk out of my cheek. i still have the scar! as for “witnessed” i accidentally broke a grown man’s rib once as a child, so i guess that would count.

9. would you rather explore the unknown of space or the bottom of the ocean? oceaaaan!! i answered this in some other game, but i like how mysterious and yet close the ocean is. like proximity wise it’s so near, yet there’s an insane amount we know nothing about. that’s so frightening but so intriguing

So, cosplay updates:

- FemShep wig (finally, a gorgeous ginger lace-front and all I have to do now is to find a person who'd cut it for Shepard's hairstyle)

- Omni-Blade from limited collection of Thinkgeek; I missed the final sale the last summer but thank God for Ebay's existence! Oh did I fear for it to arrive broken, but no, the thing crossed ocean and land safely and now is waiting for its time to come.

- 13th Doctor's Paul Smith scarf (really, I was veeery lucky to find it here in my country, black version though, but no complaints there as it was a real luck to get any).

- Basic suspenders for 13th Doctor. Ok Idk why I loved Thirteen suspenders' metal buckles, but I did and it was killing me as it seemed impossible to find those 😂 Yet, after months of fruitless search worldwide (since March 2018) I've found a person selling one pair of the suspenders with the right buckles (in December 2018, I am a damn stubborn person lol). Yaaay. Gonna leave only the buckles out of those suspenders, but still. As SA as it could be)) As a bonus, those give me a blueprint for cutting out leather button ends.

- Leather and mustard stripes for 13's suspenders. Really. The stripes of the right shade? Nearly impossible to find. I can't count the shops I've been looking for them, online worldwide and offline in my city. But I did find them. Ehehe. I'm genuinely happy. Even if it's not an elastic band. I have no idea on whether it's possible to dye elastic bands.

There's still much work to do: I've got no fabric for pants (nothing even remotely close) and no fabric for coat (I've got one that seems pretty close, but if I'm lucky, one amazing person will send me SA fabric swatches and then I'll figure out the real colour). I've been to 60 shops and haven't found pants fabric, a hard task there. Got SA swatches for lining, that's nice. Will need more broad rainbow stripe: one I've ordered earlier is 9 mm and came from Russia, but it seems like it's too thin. No socks yet, I'm trying to find something similar here as SA Corgi socks' price is a little bit cringy (and hell, finding something remotely SA here is nearly impossible). And I'm to get boots, of now I have no idea where to get something as SA, but it's a matter of time. Aaand the wig. Current one is just ridiculous and so many shots are ruined with it, I just caaan't.

Also for Shepard cosplay: decided to redo all the pants part and the hoodie. Can't decide on a pants fabric yet. Will have to buy/order custom boots too, it's terrifying as I hate ordering custom boots. Working on the insights for costume's functionality: the scene I'm going to show depicts lots of changes so the costume will have lots of secrets too.

Got some cosplay photos to post, but they need some minor fixes (like some hairs sticking to the sides, the haircut does not look neat with them so it needs some work) and I'm not in the best mood of recently for fighting Photoshop. Neither I'm in mood to make any in-progress shots. That's a pity and a cosplayer must show at least something between the conventions, but my pace is slow now (mostly due to CFS which makes a thin cloth of me on winters). It sucks, but of now I barely have energy to tackle daytime work and theatre, and evenings I'm pretty much dead. I strongly hope to finish both Shepard and 13 costumes by the end of the year.

Here for the moment, the little one is being very fussy this evening. I think my favourite scene was in the night terror in chapter 2, where we just had the glowing eyes - and then Mandy's glowing hand. Creepy and atmospheric.

Scrolling back to read, I liked how Elliot was thankful not to be a hobbit when he woke.

QUESTION 2. Dreams seem to be central to the story at hand. How do you interpret Elliot’s latest dream? Was it a dream, or was it something more? Whose birth did Elliot supposedly witness, and what exactly is it hungering for? Who is the black wolf that delivers the warnings to Elliot, and why is Elliot the one tasked with helping to defeat whatever the wolf is warning him about? Additionally, if this is no simple dream, why doesn’t Elliot remember this supposed event? Last but not least, what do you make of Elliot’s appearance change within the dream, and what do you think the meaning of the lantern is?

I don't think it's a nightmare on elm street kind of thing, because Crystal Lake was dropped as a reference, so these sorts of things already exist in the characters' universe.

QUESTION 3. Early on, we learn that Elliot is supposedly psychic or an empath. Do you think Elliot is telling the truth about mostly just seeing ghosts, or does he really have other psychic powers as the others accuse him of? Who exactly do you think Mandy is, and what do you make of her closeness with Elliot? In other words, how do you think the two met? Do you think Elliot was born with whatever powers he has, or does it somehow tie into the creature he was warned about in the dream? This interface is a mess. I move my mouse onto "exit lobby" and it turns into "kick player". Buttons just jump around and transform all the time.

And the APEX mission shit needs to be fixed. When you select a mission to play, don't direct me to lobbies who play the same enemy/map/difficulty but not as the mission! Join lobby, see "custom", exit lobby, select "custom game", re-select mission, join, end up in the same lobby, rinse, repeat...

At least I can end up second when I join on wave 5 as a human vanguard lol

Non-custom weapons of different rank shouldn't exist as separate items in the inventory! Unlocking a higher rank should upgrade the old item like in ME3! This stupid inventory system exists solely because of crafting! If you need inventory limits so much, let them apply only to the crafted items! I've already complained about rewards being lost with no warning if the inventory is full and it's still bullshit! 

I crafted the N7 chestpiece! 25% shield on kill (of course), 5% damage resistance, 2% shield restoration, 2% health&shield regen speed, 2% max shield. I called it "N7 Slayer X". And turns out, it was dad's armor...

Oh right, it needs a new color scheme!

I suggested taking people who sold their Aya slots onto the Nexus. That's not even charity -- the same ambassador gave me a task to convince angara to come there anyway! So this would kill two birds with one stone.

For the visitor who wanted contact with his family, I had to reload. The options didn't even seem too different... Got it right for the other two: gave an honest professional answer about health issues, and a confident casual answer about finding work.

Great, now I have to head back into the city to buy stuff... This is literally a fetch quest lol

Alright, this Ryder is not going to make Peebee sad, but I've already planned a Renegade-ish playthrough with a Ryder who values knowledge over everything, so... :D

(Btw, I love that MEA's brand of a more ruthless protagonist is not "uncontrollable brute" but "intellectual snob". As tedious as this game is, I'm already super eager to play character who has those values & takes urgency of tasks seriously.)

This mission is enjoyable and the choice feels maybe the most meaningful... But it has all the classic Mass Effect problems. Kalinda sends a shitload of people to murder us, we murder them, but when she's helpless and we have a finger on the trigger all of that suddenly doesn't matter. Sidonis all over again. Sure, murdering people begging for help is bad in a lot of ways, but she did just try to kill us, a lot of times... Plus, why the fuck can't Ryder jump over and catch the Remnant thing?! That needed to be a second, Paragon interrupt after the Renegade "shoot her." And Ryder is a goddamn biotic, as is Peebee, as is Kalinda! Peebee, Pull is your first goddamn skill! It'd actually be completely plausible if the artifact had shields and/or armor and therefore immune to Pull or Singularity -- but not giving the characters even an idea to try is just stupid!

Inviting Peebee to live with together made me revisit my room and inspired me to make some changes. You know what, I'm going to play music in my quarters and change into the short-sleeved pajamas. It's my own ship, why do I walk around it in street clothes? The jacket is stylish but too much to wear at home. I wish we had a "formal" outift for Nexus/Aya/other hubs in addition to the "casual" clothes we wear on the ship.

In theory Ryder should like Jaal for being such a nerd but the only thing he makes me feel is mild irritation. His interest in "taking things apart" is an informed quality just like his supposed emotional openness. It's not reflected in his dialogue or storyline at all.

And now I'm finished with all quests in the ally category. I wanted to finish the game asap, but now that we know the patch is coming on Thursday, I'll wait for it.

Completely unrelated to anything, but I just realized that if you pick the romantic option in the escape pod with Peebee, they don't actually have sex. Call me stupid because that's what Peebee's initial condition is, but I thought Ryder's response changed her mind! When Ryder said "Let's not rush things" I interpreted and meant it in the emotional sense, as "It'd be dishonest to hide that I have a crush on you, but you don't owe me anything, and if you don't ready for a Serious Relationship and Grand Romance yet that's fine because I'm not either, so let's just hook up and leave reflection for later" -- which I thought was pretty sweet and interesting? Because this whole relationship to me was built on the fascinating contrast between Peebee's emotional reservations and casual/flirty attitude, and conversely, on Ryder very consciously respecting Peebee's emotional space. Maybe I just fundamentally don't understand sex and romance lmao. But if character A propositions character B, character B says they have feelings for character A, and the scene promptly fades to black, I assume they do the do because that's how these things are filmed? Only in comparison with the other option, which is actually pretty explicit, it became obvious to me that's not what the director meant. I'm pretty disappointed because I thought it was a good subversion of Jack's "either sex or romance" thing in ME2. And it messes with my headcanon/characterization... I guess I'll have to retcon it into one of the two options. I'll probably go with casual, not romantic in that case. But I just read that Peebee will tell you she's glad you said no, so... :/

Hello huhu this shouldnt be morning pages when i end up writing these at random points of the day huhu its so hard kasi like i wish i could wake up at around like 6 am or something para i can fit in all my morning routine juju but like that is nearly impossible i already feel like death when i wake up at 7.. i dont know my sleeping is so fucked up fuck im listening to cinema by tom misch and damn the lyrics are actually quite relatable. what a beautiful tune. two lovers in this mystic stream. ugh reminds me of tsai. huhu cge my new maoy song. pero anyways today is july 28, 2018. it's a saturday. i was actually gonna start my RYC weekend retreat but like ya girl just don't got the time huhu maybe this weekend for sure! other things i want to do this weekend is to make this room a little more like home. pin up the california flag, wrap the fairy lights around the bed. i guess thats it like i want to hang my dream catchers pero like i dont wanna stick too much in the room cause we might be charged a lot huhu but yeah. to be honest ive grown to really look forward to these morning thought sessions. it's so nice to dump all your thoughts and check in on how youre feeling. stop from the commotion and tiredness that life often brings and just revel in the moment you know. it's a very chill weeekend but very understandable since everyones got shit to do. it's sila kristine and kathy's last weekend na which is like cray. like this term went by so fast but it also went by so slow if you know what im saying.. ugh what a beautiful song puta tom misch is a god i want to see him live :(( okay no im gonna watch kygo. i will watch kygo! so anyways omg 11:11 my wish is that im gonna ace my radio drama <3 that is all hehe and that i will have a good week ahead of me and also get adequate sleep and just be a happy butterfly all around. i feel happy. today i attended a one hour and 30 minute yoga session in urban ashram. beautiful studio! it was big and they had high ceilings and lots of props and free yoga mats na and open windows. it was a good session and great location! probaby will try again hehe so anyways im gonna go yoga again. at first i was thinking should I? like i need sleep man cause i already know im not gonna get any this week but idk i love yoga and i want my practice to be consistent so hell yes im going hehe and maybe i can check out legazpi right after? kind of want to grab some toby's estate. they have great coffee. speaking of coffee i went to an amazing coffee house earlier called % arabica. it's located in Fort and it is beautiful. i was so enthralled by the aesthetics. very minimalistic and japanese. i found out later that it is in fact a Japanese brand. i read the philosophy and it was quite inspiring. the founder sounds like me char lol i went there with albie and we had a really good and stimulating conversation. i love albie because you can go really deep. he is a highly intelligible person to be honest and i feel like a total airhead when im with him sometimes but i just like how i find it so easy to talk to him. ive been having some very meaningful conversations with people lately. deep talks. talks that don't just revolve over the shallow trivialties of every day life. wala lang. it's nice to get deep with a person. it's very lami. very juicy lol thats the only way i can describe it. so yeah anyways what else oh yes i also had lunch with him in sunnies cafe. all in all it was a great day. i forget how nice bgc actually is. it's so damn clean and so green and im so glad i have someone to go with whenever im there since albie lives there so i can always hit him up if i want a chat or a quick hangout hehe so yeah what else huh i was gonna say something but i forgot oh yes speaking of japanese culture, i have started this new show called terrace house. ive always heard of it and ive always seen kristine watching it but man i do love it. i love shows that revolve around human connection, human relationships. i have no clue why maybe its because im just enthralled by humanity and how we connect with one another. connection thats a topic that has really interested me. like the reason why i love sense8 so much is because of the connectedness that they shared. i dont know terrace house just feels so damn genuine and real and it reflects who we are as a generation for me. all striving to figure out what we want to do with this grand life of ours and going through myriads of personalities while were at it lol so i guess i use big and profoud words when i write at night. cge damn its getting easier to write noh like thoughts just flow you know there's a lot of interesthing things in my head that i want to tackle. right now im reading this book The Untethered Soul and to be honest it's so damn interesting.. pero like i dont got the time to read it so SADNESS :( yeah okay cge gotta get to my other tasks and trivialties so ill see ya laters.
